Updated by Jack Pursey: Crafting in the Subnautica series is much like opening a Matryoshka doll, in the sense that when players find something they want to craft, they'll often realize that the process requires far more steps than they could have imagined. Unfortunately, crafting Subnautica: Below Zero's suits is easier said than done, as players must traverse the game's dangerous ocean and new arctic biomes to search for materials and fragments needed for blueprints.

RELATED: Subnautica: Below Zero – Most Useful Items (& How To Craft Them) Thankfully, the playable character, Robin, is extremely resourceful and can craft numerous items and suits to help her survive the harsh conditions. Much like the original game, exploring the alien planet is easier said than done, as there are numerous environmental hazards and terrifying predators for players to contend with.

I wouldn't dismiss it so quickly.Subnautica: Below Zero, the sequel to Subnautica, received its full release and once again tasks players with exploring Planet 4546B. I personally love the grapple for it's versatility and movement speed. Any attachment combo is bound to be useful in its own way. The prawn suit is the best thing in the whole game.

The look on his face when some sickly, skinny guy in an exosuit who was his next meal just gave him the bamboozling of his life.įor real though, to each their own. Hit him on the top of his back with grapple. This is also why I said "leviathan *mostly* excluded." When I first tried to get by the ghost leviathan near the giant fossil remains I tried to sneak by him. In the lost river cave you can traverse the entire thing without touching the ground with the grapple just momentum and accurate shots. Not only is it good for covering ground quickly, you can escape any non-leviathan monster (or just dance around sandsharks). If you're on the ground shoot it in front of you until it gets you going really fast then let go and jump and you're moving twice the speed of any vehicle in the game. You can avoid every monster (leviathan *mostly* excluded) and traverse caves at lightning speed with that thing and the booster upgrade. Man you ain't using the grapple right then.

after that you can basically jump/fly anywhere with a bit of practice. Originally posted by Jost don't use the grapple, it sucks, use the jumpjet upgrade.

Things just don't move that fast in this game. I tend to jump out and repair my vehicles any time they drop below 80% integrity, even if the hostile is still in the area (Leviathans excepted). You should have plenty of time to get back into the vehicle. You might get bitten by a predator, but you aren't going to get insta-killed unless your health is really low.

There's no enviroment that is so dangerous that being outside a vehicle for the time it takes to swap an upgrade is a huge risk. Same with seamoth, it's annoying to be obliged to be outside to change anything, especially in dangerous environment.įor me the point is that we should be able to change equipment of seamoth and prawn from inside for comfort as much as for security.

When in a cavern, I'm (at the moment) obliged to put grappling arms to get out (upwards), while i'm using drill and default arm to collect inside the cavern. Originally posted by Mykepatch:I didn't make torpedoes till now, because I'm bored being obliged to get out of the prawn to change an arm or any upgrade.
